Giandomenico Orlandi

Giandomenico Orlandi is a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Verona's School of Science and Engineering. His academic sector is Mathematical Analysis (MATH-03/A) with ERC research classifications in Analysis (PE1_8), Mathematical Physics (PE1_12), and Theoretical Aspects of Partial Differential Equations (PE1_11). Professor Orlandi serves on the Faculty Board of Interuniversity PhD in Mathematics and the Mathematics and Data Science Teaching Committee. He was instrumental in developing Verona's international Master Degree in Mathematics, which received the ECMI Teaching Center quality certificate in 2017. As Department representative for the Italian Mathematical Industry Help Desk, he promotes academic-industry partnerships for third mission activities.

He leads the 'Analysis of PDE and Calculus of Variations' research group and is part of the INdAM Research Unit at the University of Verona, focusing on calculus of variations, geometric measure theory, optimal control theory, and their applications in physical and industrial contexts.
