Giada Biasetti is an Associate Professor of Spanish at Augusta University's Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Department of English & World Languages. She holds a Ph.D. in Romance Languages from the University of Florida (2009), an MA in Languages and Linguistics from Florida Atlantic University (2005), and a BA in Language & Linguistics from Florida Atlantic University (2003). As Director of the Spain Study Abroad Program and Portfolio/Senior Capstone Project Director, she plays significant leadership roles in academic initiatives.

Her research focuses on 20th century Latin American literature and translation and interpretation, with notable publications analyzing texts like 'The subversive power of The Lagoon House and The White Girl and the Footless Birds'. She is pioneering interdisciplinary work on the neurophysiology of second language acquisition, bridging literary analysis with cognitive science. Recent publications include creative translations for institutional storytelling projects.
Dr. Biasetti has received multiple accolades including the 2024 Online Teaching Excellence Award, 2022 Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the 2020 Professor of the Year award from the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese (Georgia Chapter). She actively serves on university committees including the Curriculum and Academic Policies Committee and Governance and Communication Committee.
Her teaching portfolio includes courses such as Elementary Spanish I (SPAN 1001), Translation Theory & Methods (SPAN 4600), and Intro to Literature (SPAN 3510). She innovates through practical assignments like bilingual publications and video dubbing projects that provide students with real-world translation experience.
