Gi Hong

Gi Hong is an Adjunct Professor in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Wayne State University. His expertise spans chemical oceanography, environmental science, and international marine policy. He holds a B.S. and M.S. in Oceanography from Seoul National University and a Ph.D. in Chemical Oceanography from the University of Alaska, Fairbanks.

His research focuses on marine sediment analysis, radiocarbon distribution, and pollution mitigation strategies. Notable contributions include studies on dredged material management, toxic metal contamination, and legal frameworks for ocean dumping treaties. He has been recognized with prestigious awards such as the National Assembly Environment Forum Award and listings in Marquis Who’s Who and the International Biographical Center’s Top 100 Scientists.
