Ghulam Jilani Quadri

Ghulam Jilani Quadri is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Gallogly College of Engineering, University of Oklahoma. His research focuses on perceptual and human-centered frameworks for optimizing visualization design, emphasizing decision-making quality and confidence through objective guidance for designers. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of South Florida (2021), an M.S. in Computer Science from the same institution, and a B.E. in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai. Prior to OU, he was a Postdoctoral Research Associate and CRA-CCC-NSF Computing Innovation Fellow at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

Research Interests: Quadri’s work bridges Information Visualization, HCI, ML Models, and perception/cognition science. Key areas include perceptual variability, design optimization, and information accessibility. His recent work on CLAMS (2023) received an IEEE VIS Best Paper Honorable Mention, while his doctoral research earned the IEEE VGTC Best Dissertation Award (2022).

Professional Activities: He directs the DIV-Lab at OU and collaborates on projects spanning design-oriented perceptual research, robust design models, and accessible visualization for underserved communities. Recent collaborations include work with Seoul National University (2024) and co-design initiatives with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities.
