Dr. Geula Hanin is a Group Leader and MRC Career Development Award Fellow at the Department of Physiology, Development and Neuroscience, University of Cambridge. Her research integrates human breastmilk studies with advanced mouse models to investigate molecular mechanisms linking lactation and early nutrition to lifelong health outcomes.
Her primary research interests include:
- Lactation
- Early Nutrition
- Developmental Biology
- Physiology
- Metabolism
- Genetics
- Lifelong Health
Employing a systems-level approach, she examines the mother-milk-offspring biological unit to understand how maternal physiology shapes generational health. Her work bridges physiological, developmental, and metabolic disciplines through interdisciplinary methodologies.
Her scientific recognition includes:
- MRC Career Development Award
As principal investigator of the Hanin Lab, she directs research on developmental origins of health and disease, with implications for nutritional science and preventive medicine across the lifespan.
