Gerhart Andrew

Andrew Gerhart is a Professor in the Department of Mechanical Robotics and Industrial Engineering at Lawrence Technological University. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of New Mexico, with prior degrees from the University of Evansville and the University of Wyoming.

• Educational leadership roles include directing the Minor in Aeronautical Engineering and advising student teams like AIAA and SAE Aero Design.

His research spans fluid dynamics, thermal systems, and innovative engineering education methodologies. Publications highlight projects on turbulent flows, helium plumes, and curriculum enhancements through project-based learning.

Scientific awards include the 2016 Mary and Richard Marburger Faculty of the Year Award and the 2010 Henry and Barbara Horldt Excellence in Teaching Award. He served on ASME’s Performance Test Code 30.1 committee and chaired the Engineering Society of Detroit’s Young Engineer and Student Award Selection Committee.
