Gerard F. Gilmore is a Professor of Experimental Philosophy at the University of Cambridge, affiliated with the Institute of Astronomy and Faculty of Physics & Chemistry. He has held leadership roles since 2010, including Chair of the Senior Academic Promotions Committee, Degree Committee of Physics and Chemistry, and Faculty Board of Physics & Chemistry.

Research Interests: His work spans Galactic archaeology, dark matter, stellar dynamics, and spectroscopy. He focuses on galactic structure and evolution, Galactic chemical evolution, and large spectroscopic surveys like Gaia.

Funding includes the European Research Council Advanced Grant (M€2.5, 2013–2018) and Leverhulme Trust Senior Research Grant (£250K, 2012–2015).
