Gerald Roche is a Senior Lecturer in Politics at La Trobe University's Department of Politics, Media and Philosophy. His research focuses on political anthropology and the politics of languages in Asia, with particular expertise in Tibet, China, and the Himalayas. He has edited the Routledge Handbook of Language Revitalization and authored the forthcoming book The Politics of Language Oppression in Tibet (Cornell University Press).
