Gerald Midgley is a Visiting Professor in the Department of Informatics at Linnaeus University (Sweden), an Emeritus Professor at the University of Hull's Centre for Systems Studies, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Birmingham's Birmingham Leadership Institute. His research focuses on systems thinking, systemic leadership, and community operational research, addressing complex challenges in environmental management, public policy, and global development. He has authored over 400 publications and twelve books, including seminal works on systemic intervention and systems theory.
His work emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to wicked problems, such as climate adaptation strategies in Ghana and marine rewilding initiatives.
