His research program investigates fundamental cellular mechanisms hijacked during viral infections, specifically focusing on membrane remodeling processes in cells infected with positive-strand RNA viruses. Key projects include characterizing cellular Arf GEF proteins' roles in picornavirus replication cycles and developing novel antiviral therapeutics targeting host factors essential for viral propagation. This work bridges cell biology and virology to identify new intervention points against viral pathogens.
