Georgios Spyropoulos

Georgios Spyropoulos is a Post-Doc (Researcher) at the Ernst Strüngmann Institute (ESI) for Neuroscience in Frankfurt, Germany, where he is a member of the Singer Lab led by Wolf Singer.

His research investigates the mechanistic underpinnings of local and long-range rhythmic cortical activity. Specifically, he studies the engagement of different neuronal cell types by high-frequency oscillations (beta and gamma) across the laminar compartments of early (V1) and intermediate (V4) visual cortical areas in awake behaving macaques, aiming to test contemporary theories of interareal communication.
