Dr. Georgina Badoni is an enrolled member of the Diné Nation and serves as an Assistant Professor of Native American Studies, Director of the Native American Studies program, and faculty member in Borderlands and Ethnic Studies at New Mexico State University (NMSU). She holds a Ph.D. in Native American Studies from the University of Arizona. Her work focuses on Native American visual culture, education systems, and women’s studies, with a strong emphasis on culturally responsive education.
Previously, she spent 15 years teaching K-12 in Arizona and Washington State, including roles as a Native Education Consulting Teacher for Seattle Public Schools. Currently, she collaborates with Southern New Mexico schools to advance Culturally Linguistically Responsive education and serves on the Equity Council for local charter and public schools.
Her academic affiliations include the Garcia Center at NMSU, where she is based, and her research integrates Indigenous perspectives into educational frameworks. Though no specific awards or grants are listed, her contributions to equity in education underscore her commitment to decolonizing academic and institutional practices.
