Georgia Cardosi is an Associate Professor at the École d'architecture within the Faculté de l'aménagement at Université de Montréal. She holds a Ph.D. in Urban Planning (2020) from the same institution, with prior degrees including a Master's in Urban Design and Housing from McGill University (2011) and a Laurea in Architecture from Università La Sapienza di Roma (1997). Her research focuses on urban informality, adaptive capacities in informal settlements, and urban planning in developing countries.
Key affiliations include the Observatoire Ivanhoé Cambridge, GRIF (Groupe de recherche IF), and RÉSAUD (Réseau d'Échanges Stratégiques pour une Afrique Urbaine Durable). She has received awards such as the 2018 Excellence Urbaine Scholarship and the 2016 Premier Prize for the International Debate on Sustainable Works. Her work bridges design theory with resilience strategies in contexts like Nairobi’s Toi Market.
