معرفی
Dr. Georgia Campbell is a Lecturer in Adult Nursing at Teesside University's School of Health and Life Sciences, Department of Nursing and Midwifery. She holds an MSc in Sport and Exercise Science from Sunderland University and a PhD in Molecular Genetics from Newcastle University. Her academic background includes extensive research in mitochondrial disorders and human physiology.
Dr. Campbell's research spans mitochondrial genetics, exercise physiology, and clinical pathophysiology. She investigates molecular mechanisms of mitochondrial DNA deletions in neuromuscular diseases and their clinical progression, with recent work exploring implications for therapeutic interventions.
Her publications primarily focus on mitochondrial DNA disorders in muscle tissues, analyzing disease mechanisms across genetic, cellular, and clinical dimensions. Research consistently demonstrates expertise in molecular diagnostics and therapeutic applications for mitochondrial pathologies.
Previously, Dr. Campbell managed the SuBBSea Project at Durham University, coordinating international research on sustainable seaweed biomass. She has supervised undergraduate/postgraduate students and taught diverse physiology modules using hybrid learning approaches. Her technical expertise includes operating specialized physiology equipment and developing experimental protocols.
