Georges Sakr is a Researcher at the University of Edinburgh and Newcastle University, with affiliations in the School of Philosophy, Psychology and Language Sciences. He holds a PhD in Linguistics and English Language (2019-2025) and prior degrees from the University of Edinburgh and American University of Beirut. His research focuses on phonetics/phonology of Lebanese dialects, emphasizing documentation and computational methods. He teaches courses like Quantitative Methods in Linguistics and Phonetics at Edinburgh.
Education includes B.A. English Language (2015-2017) and Minor in Computer Science (2013-2015) from AUB, plus MSc/MScR in Linguistics at Edinburgh. His work combines technical skills in programming/web design with linguistic inquiry, particularly the Central Mount Lebanon Lebanese (CMLL) dialect's articulation/acoustics.
