معرفی
George Zhou is an Associate Professor in Astrophysics at the University of Southern Queensland, affiliated with the School of Mathematics, Physics and Computing and the Centre for Astrophysics. His research focuses on exoplanet detection and characterization, particularly studying planetary systems around evolved stars and young stars. He holds prestigious fellowships including the ARC Future Fellowship (2024) and NASA Hubble Fellowship (2017). Zhou has contributed to over 80 peer-reviewed articles, with recent work emphasizing orbital dynamics, stellar obliquity measurements, and the evolution of planetary atmospheres.
Education: PhB (Honours) and PhD from Australian National University (2011, 2015). Professional highlights include leading the TESS Grand Unified Hot Jupiter Survey and discovering numerous exoplanets such as TOI-2145b and HIP94235b. His research spans topics like planetary system formation, atmospheric escape mechanisms, and the co-evolution of stars and planets.
Scientific awards include ARC DECRA Fellowship (2021), and he actively supervises doctoral students in exoplanet demographics and obliquity measurements. Current projects involve studying exoplanet atmospheres via TESS and CHEOPS missions, and exploring planet formation pathways using multi-planet system analyses.
