George Z. Voyiadjis is a Boyd Professor (highest professorial rank in LSU System) and Freeport-MacMoRan Endowed Chair in Engineering at Louisiana State University's College of Engineering. He has served as Director of the LSU Center for GeoInformatics (C4G) since 2012 and maintained a distinguished 40+ year career in solid mechanics and materials science.

- Multiple international honors including foreign memberships in European/Polish/Korean academies
His research focuses on gradient plasticity, damage mechanics, and multiscale modeling of metals, composites, and biomaterials. His work bridges theoretical modeling, numerical simulation, and experimental validation for high-speed impact analysis.
Key awards include the Khan International Medal (2012), Blaise Pascal Medal (2023), and Nathan M. Newmark Medal (2008). He has authored over 350 refereed articles and 22 books.
