George W. Burruss

George W. Burruss is an Associate Professor in the Department of Criminology at the University of South Florida and affiliated with the Florida Cybersecurity Center. His research focuses on criminal justice organizations, including policing, homeland security, juvenile courts, and cybercrime. He earned his Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2001.

Prior to his academic career, Burruss worked as a fraud investigator with the Office of the Missouri Attorney General. He co-authored the book Policing Cybercrime and Cyberterror, which highlights his expertise in cybercrime policing and policy.
