معرفی
George Vamvakas is a Researcher and part-time PhD candidate at King's College London's Department of Biostatistics & Health Informatics, housed within the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences. He is affiliated with the Social Genetic and Developmental Psychiatry Centre and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience. George holds an MSc in Statistics from Lancaster University and specializes in biostatistical methodologies applied to developmental studies and longitudinal data analysis. His work focuses on growth modeling, missing data techniques, and propensity score matching, particularly in the context of child development and mental health. His PhD research, supervised by Prof. Andrew Pickles (KCL) and Prof. Courtenay Norbury (UCL), centers on improving prediction models for language development using structural equation modeling with auxiliary variables, contributing to the SCALES study's growth chart development.
George is actively involved in the Lifecourse Epidemiology group, researching methodologies for longitudinal data analysis, and the BIPP Study, examining brain development outcomes in preterm infants led by Prof. Chiara Nosarti. His expertise spans statistical modeling, programming (e.g., R/Python), and translational research in healthcare systems. His research interests include predictive analytics, structural equation modeling, and the application of biostatistics to mental health and developmental disorders.
Key contributions include studies on maternal mental health impacts on child behavior, offender rehabilitation pathways, and neurochemical changes in psychosis. He collaborates across disciplines, integrating statistical rigor with clinical and developmental research. George's work bridges methodological innovation with practical applications in public health and clinical practice.
