George MacLeod is an Associate Professor of French at St. Mary's College of Maryland, specializing in Francophone African literature and film. He incorporates digital and audio-visual projects into his teaching, including podcasts, digital stories, and student-designed graphic novels.

- M.A. and Ph.D. in French and Francophone Studies, University of Pennsylvania (2011, 2016)
Dr. MacLeod's research focuses on how contemporary Francophone African authors and filmmakers engage with collective and individual stories of violence, particularly in post-genocide Rwanda. His 2020 article in Research in African Literatures explores the use of social media and dating websites as inspiration for a transmedia documentary on love in Rwanda.
He has presented at international conferences in Haiti, Algeria, and Rwanda and is affiliated with the African and African Diaspora Studies program. His teaching spans all levels of French language instruction, with courses on Francophone graphic novels, childhood in literature, film, and cultural history.
