George L. Jackson

George L. Jackson, Ph.D., MHA, is a Professor and Director of the Advancing Implementation & Improvement Science Program at the Peter O'Donnell Jr. School of Public Health, UT Southwestern Medical Center. He also serves as the Interim Chair of the Department of Health Economics, Systems, and Policy and holds secondary faculty appointments in General Internal Medicine and the Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center. Additionally, he is a VA Health Systems Research Scientist, leading the Implementation and Improvement Science Lab at the Durham VA ADAPT Center. His research focuses on implementing team-based approaches for chronic diseases and enhancing healthcare systems' adoption of evidence-based practices. Dr. Jackson earned his Ph.D. and MHA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, with fellowships at Duke University and the Durham VA. He previously held professorial roles at Duke University and maintains adjunct positions at Duke and UNC.
