George Karatzas

George P. Karatzas is Professor of Soil Pollution and Remediation at the Technical University of Crete's School of Environmental Engineering. He directs the Geoenvironmental Engineering Laboratory and researches groundwater contamination, remediation technologies, and hydrological modeling.

His current projects include sustainable groundwater management in Mediterranean regions and flood risk assessment systems. Karatzas teaches fluid mechanics, optimization methods, groundwater hydraulics, and contaminant transport courses.
