George Karathanasis

George Karathanasis is a Professor of Financial Management at the Department of Business Administration, Athens University of Economics & Business (AUEB). He holds a BSc from Piraeus University and has studied at City University, Reading University, and Aston University Business School in England.

Professor Karathanasis has authored multiple books and monographs on finance, including Business Finance, Investment Appraisal, and Portfolio Analysis, with publications on unlisted securities markets, stock pricing mechanisms, and mutual funds. His work spans collaborations with financial institutions and research centers.

Prior to joining AUEB, he spent over a decade teaching at Aston University and held leadership roles such as chairman of university committees, doctoral admission officer, and head of graduate/postgraduate programs. He also served as vice chairman of the Chartered Institute Of Valuers.
