Prof. Dr. Georg Plasger is a full professor in Systematic and Ecumenical Theology at the Faculty I – Protestant Theology of the University of Siegen, Germany. He holds an active position with current office contact details and supervises both completed and ongoing doctoral research.
His research centers on Karl Barth’s theology, Reformed theology (especially Calvin and Zwingli), Christology, Anselm of Canterbury, medical ethics, bioethics, peace ethics, and criticism of religion. His scholarly work spans historical, systematic, and ethical theology, with a strong focus on confessional identity and ecumenical dialogue.
Prof. Plasger has edited numerous volumes and journals, including the Zeitschrift für Dialektische Theologie, and has published extensively from 1993 to 2021. His recent publications show a sustained engagement with Barthian theology, Reformed confessions, sacramental theology, and the intersection of faith with ethics and politics.
