Prof. Dr. Georg Happich serves as Professor of Agricultural Robotics at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Kempten University of Applied Sciences since 2023, following 12 years of industry experience in electronics development at AGCO GmbH/Fendt. His expertise spans agricultural machinery systems, standardization, and industrial networking with strong cross-functional leadership capabilities.
He holds a Mechanical Engineering degree with Vehicle Technology specialization from Technische Universität Braunschweig (2000-2006), followed by doctoral research at the university's Institute for Agricultural Machinery and Fluid Technology (2006-2011) where he led cooperative machine operation initiatives.
Happich's research centers on agricultural robotics and systems engineering, with deep specialization in ISOBUS (ISO 11783) standardization, model-based system modeling, and agile development methodologies. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical agricultural automation, emphasizing interoperability and functional architecture design for intelligent machinery systems.
As an active member of the Institute for Applied Artificial Intelligence and Robotics (IKR), he contributes to cutting-edge robotics research while maintaining significant industry engagement through the Agricultural Industry Electronics Foundation (AEF) and German Institute for Standardization (DIN), where he holds leadership roles in tractor-implement management standardization.
