Georg Dolzmann

Georg Dolzmann is Professor of Mathematics at Universität Regensburg, where he holds the Chair VI position. His research focuses on theoretical and numerical aspects of partial differential equations with applications to materials science.

Dolzmann investigates variational methods for complex phenomena in engineering materials, including microstructure formation, nonlinear elasticity, and phase transformations. His work combines mathematical analysis with computational approaches to model material behavior.

He coordinates the DFG Priority Programme SPP 2256 'Variational Methods for Predicting Complex Phenomena in Engineering Structures and Materials'. This program brings together mathematicians and engineers to develop new tools for material design and analysis.
