Dr. Geofry Areneke is a Senior Lecturer and Acting Head of Research and Knowledge Exchange in the Accounting, Finance and Banking Department at Manchester Metropolitan University's Business School. His research focuses on corporate governance, firm financing in emerging economies, and the intersection of international business, law, and sociology. He is actively involved in professional associations such as the British Accounting and Finance Association (BAFA) and the Academy of Management (AOM).
Geofry holds a strong academic background in finance and corporate governance, with a multi-disciplinary approach to research. His work has been published in high-impact journals like Journal of World Business and Journal of Business Research. His research explores topics such as risk governance disclosure, environmental innovation, and gender diversity in corporate leadership, often addressing challenges in non-Anglo-American institutional settings.
He currently supervises two PhD students and serves in administrative roles that enhance research and academic collaboration. His outputs emphasize the practical implications of governance frameworks in emerging markets and the mediating effects of cultural and institutional factors.
