Geoffrey Thomas is a Teaching Professor in the Department of Anthropology at Florida State University (FSU). He completed his bachelor's and master's degrees through Tulane's 4+1 program in 2005, followed by a PhD in Anthropology from FSU in 2011. Since 2011, he has served as a specialized teaching faculty member while also directing the Human Remains Collections.

Research Interests:
Skeletal biology, subadult growth and development, functional morphology, hunter-gatherer lifeways, evolutionary theory, and paleopathology. His work focuses on behavioral reconstruction through osteological analysis, particularly exploring links between physical stress markers and cultural practices in Archaic populations.
Publication Trends:
His research spans three main areas: 1) biomechanical analysis of skeletal asymmetry in hunter-gatherer populations, 2) paleopathological studies of ancient diseases like thalassemia, and 3) contextual analysis of Mesolithic burial sites such as Windover.

Teaching & Projects:
Teaching three courses per semester, including Human Osteology and Forensic Anthropology. Leading the digitization of the Windover archaeological collection (8BR246), preserving excavation records through FSU's digital repository.
