Geoffrey A. Blake

Geoffrey A. Blake is Professor of Cosmochemistry and Planetary Sciences and Professor of Chemistry at California Institute of Technology. His research investigates chemical and physical processes in natural environments ranging from the interstellar medium to living cells, focusing on stellar/planetary genesis, THz spectroscopy, and atmospheric characterization.

Research interests include observational astrochemistry, terahertz spectroscopy of hydrogen-bonded materials, atmospheric biogeochemistry, and in situ characterization of planetary atmospheres. His group develops innovative spectroscopic tools across the THz region for remote sensing and laboratory studies.
