معرفی
Geo Clausen is a Professor in the Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), where he has been actively contributing to research on indoor environments for over 35 years. His work focuses on human comfort, health, and productivity in indoor spaces, particularly in office buildings, schools, and homes. He is affiliated with DTU's Sustainable Environment research group and has led numerous national and international collaborations.
Research Interests: His research spans indoor air quality, thermal comfort, noise, HVAC systems, and human exposure to pollutants. A significant portion of his recent work examines children's indoor environments in schools and kindergartens. He has also contributed to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly those related to health and sustainable communities.
The trends in his recent publications (2023–2024) emphasize empirical studies in real-world settings—especially schools and offices—using data from CO₂ monitoring, post-occupancy evaluations, and citizen science. His work increasingly integrates human perception with physical measurements, aiming to develop benchmarking tools for indoor environmental quality (IEQ) and assess the economic and cognitive benefits of improved indoor conditions.
Scientific Contributions:
- Supervised multiple PhD projects on indoor air, arctic dwellings, and fire safety for vulnerable populations.
- Co-authored over 173 publications, with recent work published in high-impact journals like Building and Environment and Journal of Building Engineering.
- Active collaborator with researchers such as J. Toftum and E. P. Dam-Krogh.
Advising and Grants: Clausen has served as supervisor or co-supervisor on several funded PhD projects, including those on office building IEQ benchmarking, indoor spores and metabolites, and energy-efficient ventilation in arctic climates. These projects were supported by DTU and external funding bodies, reflecting sustained research support.
Labs and Teams: He is part of DTU’s indoor environment research group within the Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering, contributing to interdisciplinary projects involving building physics, environmental health, and sustainable design.
