Genevieve Metson is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (IFM) at Linköping University, specializing in Biology (BIOLO) and Ecological and Environmental Modeling. Her research examines nutrient flows (phosphorus, nitrogen, potassium, carbon) across urban and agricultural landscapes, integrating quantitative methods like substance flow analysis with qualitative stakeholder studies to address sustainability transformations.
- Key research areas: Nutrient management, socio-ecological systems, urban agriculture, circular bioeconomy
- Current projects: Future land use in Sweden, URBWAT greywater systems in South Africa, consumer roles in nutrient recycling
- Teaching: Courses in Sustainable Resource Management, Ecological Systems, Urban Planning, and Methods in Ecology since 2018
- Affiliations: Centre for Climate Science and Policy Research (CSPR), Ecological and Environmental Modeling (ECOMOD) unit
Her work bridges art-science collaborations, as seen in studies of nutrient cycling in Linköping’s gardens, and contributes to policy guidance through systematic evidence platforms for wastewater reuse in agriculture.
