Gediminas Gaidulis

Dr. Gediminas Gaidulis is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Memphis. He leads the CARDIOCOM Lab, established in 2024, which focuses on computational modeling for cardiovascular research. His expertise includes structural heart biomechanics, patient-specific predictive modeling, and surgical repair of valvular heart disease. Dr. Gaidulis holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Vilnius Gediminas Technical University (2019), followed by postdoctoral work at Emory University and Georgia Institute of Technology.

His research emphasizes translating computational tools into clinical applications to improve cardiovascular disease management. Notable projects include optimizing repair strategies for mitral valve regurgitation and developing predictive models using 3D ultrasound data. As of 2024, he has authored 10 journal articles and over 40 conference abstracts. He teaches courses in biomedical engineering fundamentals and advanced cardiovascular topics, mentoring over 20 students.
