Gediminas Dačinskas

Gediminas Dačinskas (born 1971) serves as Associate Professor at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre (LMTA) in the Department of String Instruments, specializing in viola instruction. He ranks among Lithuania's most distinguished viola performers and chamber musicians with an international career spanning decades.

His academic foundation includes studies at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre under Professor Petras Radzevičius and advanced training at Mozarteum University Salzburg with Professor Thomas Riebl.

Dačinskas maintains a remarkably diverse repertoire traversing ancient music, classicism, and avant-garde compositions. He actively champions Lithuanian musical heritage through global performances and prioritizes contemporary/rarely performed works by Lithuanian composers. His professional activities prominently feature chamber music collaborations, particularly with the state-funded Čiurlionis Quartet since 2003, alongside extensive solo engagements.

As an educator, he has taught at LMTA since 2009 while conducting master classes across Lithuania, Mexico, and Switzerland. His ensemble affiliations include the Vilnius New Music Ensemble (since 1998), Trio Advance, and The Camerata Salzburg, reflecting his commitment to new music and international artistic exchange.
