Gaël Mouret

Dr. Gaël Mouret serves as Professor and Director of the Laboratory at the University of the Littoral Opal Coast, with over 20 years of expertise in THz spectroscopy and instrumentation. He leads the Laboratory of Physicochemistry of Combustion and Atmospheric Processes (LPCA - UR 4493) and has published more than 50 articles in high-impact journals alongside 15 invited international conference presentations.

His research centers on advancing Terahertz technology through photomixing-based synthesizer development, ultra high-resolution frequency analysis of Coherent Synchrotron Radiation, and optoelectronic conversion systems. Key contributions include the Nature Communications publication demonstrating discrete CSR properties via heterodyne detection, establishing him as a specialist in frequency metrology using optical frequency combs.

Dr. Mouret has coordinated major national research initiatives since 2000, including ACI projects, DGA REI Programme, and ANR grants focused on THz instrumentation development. His laboratory work bridges molecular physics with cutting-edge measurement techniques for atmospheric and combustion process analysis.

As Director of LPCA, he oversees research operations at the Dunkirk campus (MREI 2 building), managing infrastructure for molecular physico-chemistry studies and mentoring research teams in spectroscopy innovation.
