Gavin Ball is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Game Development and Entrepreneurship program at Ontario Tech University's Faculty of Business and Information Technology. He is affiliated with the Software and Informatics Research Centre (SIRC) and specializes in art, animation, and design for real-time graphics systems. His research focuses on purpose-led modular visual design, real-time asset creation, rigging systems, and grassroots game development training.
Ball holds a Master of Digital Media from Ryerson University (2019) and an Advanced Diploma in Animation Arts from Seneca College (2006). Before joining Ontario Tech, he taught at Seneca, Centennial, and Durham Colleges. He is currently developing an independent game titled Gladiotron through his studio Full Circle CS, based in the Durham Region.
His professional experience spans roles as a visual development artist, art director, and texture/modeling specialist in the game and animation industry. His teaching and research emphasize design aesthetics, visual appeal, and principle-based approaches to game design and animation.
