Professor Gary Pollock is a sociologist and academic researcher at Manchester Metropolitan University's Policy Evaluation and Research Unit. His work focuses on longitudinal studies, child well-being, social inequalities, and educational achievements. He has led major EU-funded projects such as COORDINATE and GUIDE, and contributed to transnational research initiatives like MYPLACE. Pollock holds a PhD from the University of Liverpool and has held academic roles since 1992, including Professor and former Head of the Department of Sociology. His teaching expertise includes multilevel modelling and sequence analysis.
