Professor Gary O'Brien is currently the Vice President for Governance & Strategy at Mary Immaculate College, University of Limerick. His responsibilities include managing College Boards, strategic planning, policy development, ICT operations, and external reporting. Previously, he lectured in international history and politics at University College Cork and the University of Limerick, earning his PhD in 2001 for research on Cold War-era American-Soviet diplomatic relations.
Research Interests: Gary O'Brien's work spans International Relations, Political Science, and Cold War Studies, with additional expertise in Social Exclusion, Strategic Planning, and Policy Development. His career bridges academic scholarship and institutional governance.
