Gary Israel

Gary Israel, MD, is a Professor and Section Chief of Body Imaging in the Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging at Yale School of Medicine. He specializes in abdominal and pelvic imaging, with a focus on genitourinary and renal masses using CT and MRI. He collaborates closely with gastroenterologists, surgeons, urologists, oncologists, and pathologists to ensure accurate diagnoses. Dr. Israel’s expertise includes GI radiology, CT colonography, and body computed tomography.

Education: MD from New York Medical College (1994), residency at Montefiore Medical Center (1999), and a fellowship at New York University Medical Center (2000). He is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1999.

Recognitions: Recipient of Connecticut Magazine’s Top Docs in 2015 and 2016. Affiliated with multiple Yale programs, including the Liver Cancer Program, Prostate & Urologic Cancers Program, and Yale Cancer Center.
