Gareth Harrison

Professor Gareth Harrison, the Bert Whittington Chair of Electrical Power Engineering at the University of Edinburgh, serves as Head of the School of Engineering. His research focuses on renewable energy integration, meteorological modeling, and optimization of energy systems.

• BEng (1997) and PhD (2001) in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Edinburgh
• Chartered Engineer and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology

His work spans energy systems integration, climate change adaptation, and multi-vector energy networks. Current projects include EPSRC and Ofgem-funded initiatives on energy storage and grid resilience.
