Dr. Galina Madjaroff Reitz serves as a Senior Lecturer and Director of the Bachelor of Science in Information Science (BSIS) program at the Universities at Shady Grove campus of the University of Maryland. She previously held roles at UMBC, including faculty member and administrator. Her research focuses on accessibility technologies for older adults, particularly those with cognitive impairments, and explores how technology can improve quality of life, caregiver support, and cybersecurity for aging populations. She leads initiatives like TechBridge and is associated with the Maryland Initiative for Digital Accessibility (MIDA). Dr. Reitz was awarded a three-year NSF grant to study cyber systems access for older adults with mild neurocognitive disorders.
