Dr Gail Ross-Adjie is a Senior Lecturer and Postgraduate Partnership Coordinator at the School of Nursing & Midwifery, University of Notre Dame Australia, Fremantle Campus. She has over 30 years of clinical experience in cardiothoracics, critical care, and emergency nursing, and holds a PhD, Graduate Certificates in Business Administration and Learning & Teaching, and is a registered nurse.

Her research focuses on emergency nursing, quantitative research methods, palliative care in emergency departments, falls prevention post-surgery, and bowel management after joint arthroplasty. She integrates clinical expertise with academic rigor to improve patient outcomes and healthcare delivery.
The recent publications highlight a strong trend in postoperative care, geriatric safety, and emergency department practices. Her work combines randomized trials, cohort studies, and mixed methods to address real-world clinical challenges, particularly in aging populations and emergency settings.
Her scientific achievements have been recognized through several awards:
- Inaugural winner of the Reginald 'Babe' Norman PhD Scholarship
- Joint Winner, Catholic Healthcare Australia’s Research Symposium ‘Shark Tank’, 2018

Dr Ross-Adjie actively supervises higher degree research students and contributes to healthcare policy through her roles as a non-executive director at Amana Living and Fremantle Women's Health Centre, and as a member of the St John of God Human Research Ethics Committee. She also serves on the Scholarship Advisory Panel for the Rosemary Norman Foundation and is a reviewer for the International Journal of Orthopaedic and Trauma Nursing.
She is engaged in professional leadership as Immediate Past President of Sigma Nursing Psi Alpha Chapter WA and a Clinical Fellow of the Joanna Briggs Institute, reflecting her commitment to evidence-based practice and nursing excellence.
