Gabrielle Kielich

Gabrielle Kielich is a Senior Research Fellow in Music at the University of Huddersfield, affiliated with the Centre for Research in Music and its Technologies. Her research examines live music touring, gender in popular music, and the cultural sociology of music production.

Her work investigates road crew labor practices, women's experiences in electric guitar culture, and distortion as a production technique. She employs qualitative methods including interviews and ethnographic approaches to study music industry practices.

She co-edited the book Distortion in Music Production: The Soul of Sonics (Routledge 2023) and serves as co-editor of the Journal of Music Production Research. She teaches courses on sound engineering, music production, and research methods.
