Gabrielle Demange is a Professor at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS) where she has served as Directeur d'Etudes since 1990 and maintains affiliation with the Paris School of Economics as Associate Chair (2007). Her academic career spans multiple prestigious French institutions including Professor of Mathematics at Paris XIII University (1988-1990), Maître de Conférences in Economics at École Polytechnique (1986-1999), and earlier mathematics faculty positions at Paris VI and Paris I Universities.
Her research centers on Game Theory with specialization in cooperative models, Social Choice Theory including voting systems analysis, and financial applications examining risk sharing mechanisms, Social Security frameworks, and intergenerational risk allocation. This interdisciplinary work bridges mathematics, economics, and public policy through rigorous theoretical modeling.
Her scientific recognition includes:
