Dr. Gabriella Abbate is a Senior Research Assistant at the Institute for Molecular Bioscience (IMB), University of Queensland. Her research focuses on cardiovascular and critical care medicine, with a particular emphasis on extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), heart transplantation models, and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) subphenotypes. Her work involves developing animal models to study organ preservation, ventilation strategies, and anti-inflammatory treatments.
