His research spans Italian literature from the 15th to the 18th century, with a focus on epic, chivalric, and mock-heroic poetry. He investigates the reception of classical texts in the Renaissance, Renaissance political thought, and the history of the book, particularly popular and mass-circulation presses. He also explores the interplay between literature and music, especially in musical theatre and librettos. His intellectual history work includes the history of criticism and the cultural roles of literary figures such as Luigi Pulci, Ludovico Ariosto, and Alessandro Tassoni.
Although no recent publications are listed in the provided text, his research interests suggest ongoing scholarly activity in early modern Italian literature, editorial practices, and interdisciplinary cultural history.
He is recognized for academic excellence through the Collegium Romanicum Prize 2012 for his doctoral thesis.
