معرفی
Gabriele Benedetti is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Science, Mathematics Department, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. He is a member of CTA², the Center for Topology and Applications in Amsterdam. His research focuses on the intersection of Differential Geometry, Dynamical Systems, and the Calculus of Variations, with a particular emphasis on Symplectic Geometry and Hamiltonian Systems, including applications to magnetic field dynamics. He teaches Functional Analysis, Mathematical Analysis, and contributes to the Project Business Analytics course.
Research Interests: Benedetti explores periodic orbits in Hamiltonian systems, symplectic capacities, and magnetic geodesics. His work bridges theoretical mathematics with physical systems, such as the motion of charged particles in magnetic fields. Recent collaborations include studies on Zoll magnetic systems and conformal geometry.
Teaching: He actively supervises Bachelor and Master projects, offering topics like 'The illumination problem for polygonal billiards' and 'Integrable magnetic flows on the two-torus'. He also encourages student-led project proposals.
Grants & Awards: No specific awards listed, but his research has been published in high-impact journals like Advances in Mathematics and Geometric and Functional Analysis.
Labs/Teams: Part of CTA², focusing on topology and applications in geometry and dynamics.
