Gabriela Estrada Díaz

Gabriela Estrada Díaz is a full-time Professor in the Department of Architecture at Iberoamerican University, Mexico City, where she has taught since 2006. Her academic career includes coordinating the Bachelor of Architecture program from 2017 to 2025. She holds a PhD in Urbanism and Urban Planning from the University of Paris-Est (2017), a Master's in Urban Studies from El Colegio de México (1999), and a Master's in Urbanism from the Paris Urbanism Institute (2001).

Her research focuses on urban risk management, sustainable urban development, and disaster risk reduction. She has led federally and internationally funded projects on environmental public policy research and contributed to international debates on contrasting risk prevention versus disaster response frameworks in Mexico and France.

• 2018: Explored hedonic pricing models to analyze urban expansion costs and sustainable drainage systems (SUDS) for climate change adaptation.
• 2014: Critiqued Mexico's disaster risk governance and emergency response policies.

She has served as a World Bank Institute consultant and co-founded Local & Global Ideas SC, a consultancy specializing in territorial, urban, and housing issues. Her work bridges academic research and policy implementation in rapidly urbanizing regions of Mexico.
