Gabriel Robert

Professor Gabriel Robert is a University Professor-Hospital Practitioner at the University Hospital Center for Adult Psychiatry (PHUPA) within Guillaume Régnier Hospital Center in Rennes. He coordinates psychiatric care for elderly patients and leads research on neuropsychiatric disorders. In June 2024, he was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Institut des Neurosciences Cliniques de Rennes (INCR).

His research focuses on apathy mechanisms in Parkinson's disease, schizophrenia, and depression using brain imaging and emotional regulation protocols. He investigates brain network alterations in emotional deficits and develops digital phenotypes (digital twins) for cognitive disorders in elderly populations. His work extends to adolescent brain development and alcohol use disorders.

Professor Robert collaborates with the Empenn research team at UMR 6074 IRISA, specializing in clinical neuroscience and data modeling. He previously conducted research at King's College London's Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), studying longitudinal brain changes.
