Gabriel Insausti Herrero-Velarde is a Spanish poet, translator, and Professor of Philology at the University of Navarra's Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. His scholarly work bridges English Romanticism, Luis Cernuda studies, and aesthetic theory, with a focus on poetry, translation, and modern literature.
- PhD in Hispanic Philology (University of Navarra, 1999) and English Philology (University of Oviedo, 2000).
- Visiting scholar at University of Aberdeen (1995) and Saintsbury Centre for Visual Arts (2001).
His research explores the intersections of Romanticism, exile literature, and philosophical themes in poetry. He has authored monographs on Cernuda, Huston, and Hopkins, alongside award-winning poetry collections like Last Days in Sabinia and Different Blue.
Recent publications include Steps in the Atrium: Kafka, Roth, and Buber (2022) and If It's in Your Eyes (2022). His work spans literary criticism, aphoristic writing, and bilingual poetry editions, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to literature and art.
