Gabriel Guarino is a Lecturer in Early Modern History at the School of Arts & Humanities, Ulster University, Coleraine campus. His research focuses on cultural and political dynamics of European princely courts, Spanish expansion in the Americas, and the African-American Diaspora.

- PhD from University of Cambridge (Cantab.)
Research Interests span Early Modern History, Cultural Studies, Communication Studies, Historical Anthropology, Spanish and Italian Studies, and Atlantic History. His current projects include a comparative study of Spanish Viceregal courts and editing two essay collections.
Recent Publications highlight themes of monarchical ritual, Iberian-Italian interactions, and gender politics in early modern Europe. His award-winning supervision includes mentoring PhD researcher Antonio Mileo.
